Xbox 360 ArcadeXbox 360 Arcade Console

Of the Microsoft game consoles, the Xbox 360 Arcade is considered to be the entry level of the next generation game systems.

Basically, this system is the replacement for the original Xbox and therefore does offer some additional extras that were not available for Microsoft's core game system. Some of the features that have been added to the Xbox 360 Arcade console include a wireless controller, and a 256MB memory card, as well as a HDMI output port, plus five Xbox Live Arcade games.

Although this game console is definitely a step up from the original Xbox system, it does have its limitations. The main problem with the Xbox 360 Arcade is the fact that it does not come equipped with a hard drive, though there is always the option of purchasing one of the add on hard drives that come in 20GB or the 120GB.

Adding a hard drive would make purchasing one of the Xbox 360 Arcade bundles a bit more attractive, although it would probably be less expensive to simply buy one of the high-end models to begin with.

Due to the limited storage space of the Xbox 360 Arcade, the system is not much good for playing some of the original Xbox games; in addition, it is not likely that users would be able to download content from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

With today's games, a hard drive really is a necessity, and though the Xbox 360 Arcade bundles do come with a memory card, there would not be enough room on the card to accommodate downloading games, or movies to any extent.

Depending on what you use your system for, this may be exactly what you need. The Xbox 360 Arcade packages make great gifts for children, and the fact that it does come with some full version games, makes it an even better deal.

The games that come bundled with the Arcade include Uno, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, as well as Luxor 2. These games come on a DVD, which means that it is not necessary to store them on a hard drive or the memory card.

This game console is really just a basic system, and not likely to satisfy serious gamers.

With that being said, if you are looking for just a basic game system, you could very well find a cheap Xbox 360 Arcade. This system is one of the most affordable gaming systems on the market.

If you do intend to purchase the Xbox 360 Arcade, and would like to get the most out of your system, it is highly recommended that you also purchase an add on hard drive for the system, as well as a subscription to the Xbox Live Marketplace.
